Saint Valentine's Day History

Saint Valentine's Day is a very special celebration all over the world. Mostly, it is celebrated by people who are in love (spouses, boyfriends and girlfriends, a platonic love, people who want to show their affection to a special someone and more). The origins of the celebration is around XIV century in the United Kingdom on February 14. Since the XIX century in England, the exchange of cards produced massively started. Besides cards, there were gifts like roses and chocolates, mainly the men gave them to women. In America, this celebration was associated as well with a greeting 'Happy Valentine's' to a platonic love sent by men to women.
